Inductive Proximity Sensor for Metal Detection

An inductive proximity sensor detects metal objects without touching them, using an electromagnetic field at its sensing face. Because there is no contact and no moving parts, it works reliably for millions of cycles on machine tools, conveyors, presses and packaging lines. Voxintech supplies inductive proximity sensors across India with technical support from Delhi NCR. For welding lines and harsh environments, see our full metal face proximity sensors. Where It Is Used
- Position and end-of-travel detection on machine tools and CNC machines
- Counting metal parts on conveyors
- Cylinder, gate and valve position feedback
- Speed and rotation monitoring with a toothed wheel or cam
- Packaging, printing and material-handling machines
Frequently Asked Questions
PNP or NPN – which output do I need?
Choose PNP if your PLC input expects a positive (sourcing) signal – common in India and Europe. Choose NPN if the input expects a negative (sinking) signal. If unsure, tell us your PLC model.
Can an inductive sensor detect plastic or wood?
No. Inductive sensors detect metal only. For plastic, wood, liquids or glass, use a photoelectric or capacitive sensor.
